What is Playrooms?
Playrooms is a first-person cleaning horror game from German two-person studio Two Pixels. You are the inventory care specialist of a liminal facility: 200,000+ plastic balls are scattered across the floors, and your job is to carry them back into the ball pits. Nobody tells you why.
Filled pits unlock new abilities, collected balls are your currency, and enough of them buys the key to the next area — tiles, water, endless corridors, a hallway with more doors than it should have. When your shift ends the lights go out one by one, and the only rule left is to stay in the light.

Playrooms Beginner Guide
Your first shift, in the order the game actually asks for it: pick the balls up, carry them to a pit, and let a full pit unlock your next ability. Every step below comes from the official Steam description, so nothing here is guesswork.
Playrooms Release Date
Playrooms was pulled from its October 28 launch twice, and the reason was never the game itself — Steam had not finished reviewing it. This module tracks the official statements, the demo that is already playable, and what the studio has said about the next date.
Playrooms Demo
The demo is a separate free app on Steam and it is not a cut-down trailer — it is the same collect, refill and survive loop with the same adjustable danger. Use it to learn the rooms before the full release lands.
Playrooms Ball Pit & Keys
The whole economy runs on one rule: a full pit is an ability, and spare balls are money. This module covers the clean-up route, when to stop sweeping and start saving, and how the key to the next area is actually paid for.
Playrooms Areas
The Steam page names four room types in a fixed order — tiles, water, endless corridors, a hallway with more doors than it should have. They are laid out here in exactly that official order, because the developer states only one rule about them: the work stays the same, only the room changes.
Tiles — the first room type the developer lists. Same job as every other area: collect the balls, fill the pit, buy the key.
Water — the second room type listed. The store page gives the name and nothing else, so treat it as a layout change rather than a new mechanic.
Endless corridors — the third room type listed, and the layout the official description spends no extra words on.
Hallway with too many doors — the fourth and last room type listed. "More doors than it should have" is the developer's full description of it.
Playrooms Tools & Upgrades
Only two tools are named by the developer, and both are bought with balls you could have spent on a key. This module explains what each purchase actually changes and why stamina matters more than the shop suggests.
Playrooms Entities & Lights Out
The developer deliberately never names what is in the dark, so this module sticks to what is actually confirmed: how the shift ends, how the lights fail, and how the three danger settings change the rules.
Playrooms Updates & Community
Playrooms is two people in Bamberg shipping a game while talking to players directly, so the update trail lives on Steam news and their own channels. Follow these and you will know about the launch before the store page changes.
